Dr. Tarun Agarwal, born in March 1976 in Lucknow, received his education from Mahanagar Boys College (now Montfort College). He was a bright and brilliant student throughout his life. He received an honors certificate from the Uttar Pradesh Education Department for qualifying in the National Talent Search Examination.
He completed his secondary school education in 1994 with distinction in all subjects. The same year, he was selected for admission to the prestigious King George’s Medical College (Class of 1994). He completed his MBBS in 1999 and his internship in 2000. He is associated with: Fah Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow, India.
He obtained honors in physiology, social and preventive medicine, microbiology, surgery, orthopedics, and obstetrics and gynecology during his studies. He was selected for postgraduate studies in general surgery on his first attempt and obtained his Master of Surgery from the Meerut Medical College from 2001-2004.
He received the Dr. Manohar Lal Goyal Gold Medal for best performance in the final examination for multiple sclerosis surgery. He has also served as a senior resident in the Department of Surgery at several prestigious institutes in the country, such as the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Research and Education (PGIMER), Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences, Jolly Grant Dehradun, and Indra Gandhi Hospital ESI, Delhi. He is also a Fellow of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Surgery (FIAGES) and Fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India (FAIS).
He was then appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Subharti Institute of Medical Sciences, Meerut, and later promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery at Muzaffarnagar Medical College, Muzaffarnagar, Rama Medical College, Ghaziabad, and Tirthankar Medical College, Moradabad.
He is currently an Associate Professor at the Career Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow. Dr. Tarun Agrawal has performed numerous routine and emergency surgeries in the field of general surgery, including hepatobiliary, endocrine, urological, gynecological, gastrointestinal, vascular, hernia, and other surgeries.
He is also an expert in performing general laparoscopic, gynecological, and endo-urological surgeries, such as abdominal hernia repair (TAPP/TEP), abdominal hernia diagnosis, gallbladder variceal surgery, abdominal hernia resection, pyelonephrectomy, variceal variceal resection, transurethral resection (TURP), transurethral resection (TURBT), cystoscopy, optical internal urethrotomy, ureteroscopy (flexible and rigid), transurethral resection (PCNL), and RIRS surgeries.
He has also supervised numerous research projects during his academic career as an Assistant and Associate Professor. He has also contributed to numerous research articles published in various international and regional journals. He has also attended numerous conferences and continuing medical education courses and presented research papers at various conferences.
He is a life member of the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), the Indian Medical Association (IMA), the Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India (AMASI), and the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Surgeons (IAGES).
He is also a life member of the Society of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of India (SELSI), the Indian Society of Trauma and Acute Care (ISTAC), and an associate member of the Urological Society of India (USI).
